Attendance & Punctuality

  • All students should be present invariably on the first and the last working days of each semester.
  • Absentee on the re-opening day will not be allowed to attend the college unless he/she pays Rs.100 as fine for that day and Rs.50 per day thereafter.
  • Absence from classes / laboratory / workshop and internal tests will lead to disciplinary action.
  • Late-comers should obtain permission from the Head of the Department to attend the class.
  • Prior permission from the Head of the Department / Principal should be obtained to get leave.
  • Students who absent themselves without prior permission will be allowed to enter into the class only after they get proper permission from the Head of the Department / Principal.
  • Leave letter should be countersigned by the parent / guardian/warden and handed over to the Tutor.
  • Leave on medical grounds for more than 3 days should be supported by medical certificate.
  • Irregular attendance and prolonged absence may lead to the removal of the student from the college.
  • If a student is absent continuously for 30 days without producing medical certificate, his/her name will be removed from the college records.
  • If reasons sufficient to the satisfaction of the Principal are adduced he/she will be re-admitted on payment of Rs.1000 as re-admission fee.
  • Students suffering from infectious disease will not be allowed to attend the college.
  • No students leave the college premises during the working hours without the permission of the Head of the Department.
  • All students should attend all functions of the College and should also take part in all curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • No student will be permitted to appear for the Board Examination unless he/she has attended the college for not less than 85% working days in each semester.
  • Those who fail to secure 50% of marks through the weekly/monthly tests are not eligible to appear for the Board Examination.
  • All grievances should be got redressed only through the Warden / Head of the Department / Principal.
  • The Staff Council is the final authority to decide to suspend or expel a student in case in its opinion the continuance of the student is detrimental to the functioning of the college.

Discipline

  • The Motto of the institution is Education, Discipline and Exaltation. Duty, Discipline and Devotion are the strong foundations for success in life.
    Special emphasis is laid on building up the three ‘D’s.
  • All should behave in a well-disciplined manner.
  • All instructions should be carried out with obedience.
  • Causing nuisance in the class room/ Lab / Workshop / Library and causing damage to furniture, buildings, fittings, equipments, machinery and reading materials etc., will be viewed seriously.
  • Cost for the damages caused to the properties of the institution will be recovered with fine.
  • Loitering in the lounge or premises is not allowed.
  • Pin-drop silence should be maintained during working hours.
  • No students will leave the class room without the permission of the lecturer.
  • Students are not permitted to leave the class or come late under the pretext of paying fees or taking books from the library.
  • Students are expected to read notices put up on the notice board. Ignorance of any notice displayed will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to comply with directions contained in it.
  • No meeting of any kind shall be held in the Polytechnic premises without the written permission of the Principal.
  • No notice of any kind shall be circulated among students or displayed on the notice board without the written permission of the Principal.
  • Students should attend the college only in uniforms prescribed by the college.
  • While attending Polytechnic or public functions, they will conduct themselves in a well disciplined way to bring credit to themselves and the institution.
  • They will promptly stand in attention when the National Anthem is played at any meeting or function.
  • Health, hygiene, sanitation and good habits go to make a good citizen. Spitting, smoking and throwing bits or paper or rubbish at odd places are harmful and must be avoided. Dust-bins provided for the purposes should be used on all occasions.
  • Students are forbidden from taking any part in political activities of any kind, particularly in those directed against the authority of the Government.
  • Students are forbidden from entering the office room and the staff rooms during unspecified hours.
  • Representation of complaints and grievances may be made to the Principal through the respective Head of the Department. Under the Governments Educational Rules, the Principal has full powers to inflict the punishments like fine, loss of attendance, loss of term certificates, suspension and expulsion etc.,
  • The Principal decision is final in matters of punishment of the students for violation of any of the rules of the Institution.

Discontinuation

  • Any Student who wishes to discontinue his/her course of study in the middle of the semester will have to forgo his/her tuition fee and other fees already paid and should also pay next semester fees to obtain his/ her TC and other certificates from the Institution.
  • Fees once paid to the Institution WILL NOT BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
